A few years ago, I booked a riding holiday to Mallorca on a bit of a whim. I was craving some sunshine, an escape. I landed in Palma and found, to my delight, that I was to ride that very evening. The difference between the day before to that day was really quite energising and it kicked off a period of quite intense self-reflection for me.

The women that I met on that holiday unwittingly all contributed to the series of changes I would undertake over the subsequent months. I listened to their stories, understood the changes they had made, the retraining they had undertaken and appreciated the chances they had taken in their lives. I knew change was possible but at the time I was both lost and stuck in a job from which I could see no way out. I had been feeling bored, frustrated, disheartened, overlooked and I wasn’t showing up as my best self.

So, I took some inspiration from my week in the saddle in the sun and began to reflect on where I was and thought about what I liked doing best. I returned again and again to the same thing – I love helping people navigate situations in their lives and realising their dreams and goals. I like being a confidante, a facilitator, a tutor… I love coaching people.

Not long after I returned home from the holiday, I handed in my notice and booked myself in to undertake the CELTA programme, an intensive teacher training course to qualify me to teach English to non-native speakers. Almost immediately after I completed that, I enrolled in a programme to become a certified coach through the Mindful Talent programme.

My passions with coaching now lie in life, career and dating coaching. I love to bring support with English in when I can, helping build people’s confidence for using the language and really connecting with what they want to say – and that applies just as much to native speakers!

When I am coaching clients, I draw on my training, learning and personal experience to empower them. I help them build their reflection and their ability to acknowledge and embrace their goals and then work towards achieving them. Small, seemingly insignificant steps become a journey to change, energy and focus and to be held accountable for taking these steps is where the magic in coaching lies.

I can’t wait for you to join me.
